Uttarkashi/Dehradun. Today was an important day for the laborers trapped in the under-construction tunnel of Silkyara in Uttarkashi for 17 days. On the day of Diwali, the laborers trapped in the tunnel started coming out today after a day’s hard work.
Five labourers have been rescued from the tunnel. A separate lifeline pipe was being laid before the workers were evacuated, in which a breakthrough was found. CM Dhami is again present inside the tunnel. NDRF personnel are reaching inside and evacuating the laborers. The first workers were evacuated at 7.50 pm.
A temporary hospital has been built in the tunnel. The workers will be checked for health check-up. After this, he will be shifted to Chinyalisaud Hospital. It is taking 3 to 4 minutes to evacuate a worker, so it is expected that it will take an hour.
