Body of ranger missing for 15 days found in lake, police investigating

Dehradun. The body of Harish Chandra Pandey, a forest range officer posted in the Central Forest Division, who was missing for 15 days, was found in Bhimtal lake today.

55-year-old Ranger Harish Chandra Pandey, posted in the Terai Central Forest Department, resident of Unchapul Rudrapur under Kathgodam police station area, was missing on the evening of 29 November. A missing person was registered at Mukhani police station. The family was also searching for them through social media.

This morning someone informed the police about a corpse lying in Bhimtal Lake. When the police reached the spot, the body was examined and identified as Harish Chandra Pandey. In the police investigation, the last location of Harish Chandra Pandey was seen near the police station. According to the police, prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide. The entire matter is being investigated.

During the investigation, the police also found his last two locations. In the first location, he was seen going towards Kathgodam in an auto and in the second picture, he was seen getting down from a taxi in Bhimtal. After his body was found, there was chaos in his family. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

It is worth mentioning that the family had been wandering in the auto for a long time in search of the missing ranger and they had also accused the departmental officials of non-cooperation.
